Disney + has an exciting line-up of blockbuster movies and must-see hdtoday tv series.

Highlights on the streaming giant this month include the hit box office movie Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 and the Star Wars spin-off series Ahsoka, which debuts on August 23.

On September 2, fans can look forward to catching the live-action remake of The Little Mermaid.

Starring Halle Bailey and Melissa McCarthy, the box office hit is a delightful reimagining of Disney’s much-loved animated musical classic.

The heartwarming film centres on mermaid Ariel (Bailey) who falls for a dashing young Prince, played by Jonah Hauer-King.

Subscribers to Disney+ will get access to some special bonus content for the film’s streaming debut.

This includes a performance from Javier Bardem of the song Impossible Child.

Since hitting theatres last May, the film has gone on to earn an eye-watering $542million at the global box office.

The 2023 version of The Little Mermaid features tunes from songwriter Alan Merken of Beauty and the Beast fame, with lyrics from Howard Ashman and new lyrics by Hamilton song writer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Iconic songs from The Little Mermaid soundtrack have had their lyrics changed to reflect consent in the live action remake of the 1989 Disney film.

Meanwhile, Star Wars fans are in for a treat on Wednesday August 23 as the new action-packed series Star Wars : Ahsoka makes its debut on Disney+.

The eight-part sci-fi drama Ahsoka – pictured –  is a spin-off from The Mandalorian Star Wars series. It follows the events depicted in the 1983 Star Wars classic Return of the Jedi 

Starring Rosario Dawson in the title role, the eight-part sci-fi drama is a spin-off from The Mandalorian Star Wars series.

It follows the adventures of former Jedi Knight Ahsoka as she confronts a new threat to the galaxy.

Set in the same time frame as The Mandalorian, it follows the events depicted in the 1983 Star Wars classic Return of the Jedi.

Also featured in the new series are Star Wars Rebels characters, including Sabine portrayed by Australian-born actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo, and Hera played by Death Proof actress Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Already streaming on Disney+ is fan favourite Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

The Marvel Studios hit, which received rave reviews from fanatics, will join the first two films in the superhero trilogy.

 74-year-old Oscar-winner Meryl Streep has wowed audiences with her performance in the comedy-drama Only Murders in the Building 

In Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol.3, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff and Vin Diesel are all reunited.

Their newest mission begins as Peter Quill (Pratt) mourns the death of his love Gamora (Saldana) which occurred in The Guardians Of The Galaxy Holiday Special.

Another Disney+ highlight this month is the hit series Only Murders in the Building.

Fans are already going wild over season 3 after it dropped earlier month. 

Viewers can’t seem to get enough of this year’s guest star: Meryl Streep .

The 74-year-old Oscar-winner has wowed audiences with her performance in the comedy-drama.

Streep plays the character of Loretta, who is trying out for a role as a ‘nanny’ in a musical play produced by Oliver (series regular Martin Short).

But Oliver’s plans are thrown into chaos when one of the star’s of his Broadway show, played by Paul Rudd, is murdered.

Meanwhile, Oliver’s neighbours Charles-Haden Savage played by Steve Martin and Mabel (Selena Gomez) set out to solve the crime – with Streep’s character a prime suspect.

Meanwhile, the finale of Disney’s High School Musical: The Musical The Series, is already wowing viewers after dropping on Disney+ earlier in August.

The eight-episode series follows the action as a movie crew comes to East High along with the original Wildcats to film ‘High School Musical 4: The Reunion’

A spin-off from the beloved movie franchise, the long-awaited closer is a treat for fans as it features the return of characters from the past three seasons as well as favourites from the movie series.

The eight-episode series follows the action as a movie crew comes to East High along with the original Wildcats to film ‘High School Musical 4: The Reunion’.

This upsets the current Wildcats plan to stage a production of High School Musical 3: Senior Year.

Meanwhile, current students are recruited into the film as extras.
